Faery Realm 

Faery is a realm, not an individual spirit. In the realm of Faerie, there are many different types of spirit. The origin of the word fairy is found within the mists of early history starting with Ancient Latin. The Fatum or Fates were a group of goddesses who inspired & governed the affairs of mankind. Another species of spirits were the femaleFatuae & the male Fatui, immortals who dwelt in hidden places near lakes, woods & waterfalls. Eventually all these spirits became collectively known as the Fata. The Celts struggled with the strict Latin language & in time the 't' of Fata was dropped & became Fa'a, Fa'ae, Fee & Fay. Eventually Fae stopped meaning a specific group of spirits & became a description for anything otherworldly & mysterious. By the time we had the word Faery it simply meant enchanted.
